June means Green

Late last week I took a walk around our backyard to take a few pictures for the start of June. June 1st the group at Project Spectrum switched over from red to green. What a great time of year to look for green!

I got some great shots of a few of the things out there and there's still more! So I'm sure more pictures will be popping up here during this month. Now that we are living back in the suburbs rather then right smack in the middle of the city where there was hardly any nature to be seen, I'm excited to get out there! I'm planning on lots of walks with the little one this summer with camera in tow.

This Moment {Knitting!}

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. Joining Amanda again this week!

Yarn Along

Ginny has some big news this week! Congratulations to her & her family on the birth of their baby boy! I'm not sure if she'll be hosting the yarn along this week but I thought I'd post anyway.
I cast on this weekend for a pair of Blueberry Waffle socks for my dad for Christmas. I figure it's never too early to begin Christmas knitting! Except I chose green yarn for them. I've been trying to come up with a different fruit rather then blueberry for them. I can't think of a green fruit though!
And for reading I've been poring over my old quilting magazines. My little one is still in her crib but before I know it she'll be in a big girl bed (sob!) and I want her to have a Mama made quilt. I can't find exactly what I'm looking for so I may have to try & sit down to put to pattern the picture in my head of how I want her to quilt to be.
