Yarn Along!

Joining Ginny again! I had so much fun last week visiting everyone and seeing what they are reading and knitting.
This week I'm thinking about the meals for my family. I would like to start a weekly meal plan. That idea is slowly forming in my head. I need to set a weekend day where I sit down and WRITE IT OUT. (Kind of like how I need to sit and write out a weekly cleaning list!) But for now I'm enjoying looking through these cook books I picked up at the library the other day.

And I cast on for another pair of legwarmies. This time a pair for my niece as a Valentine's Day treat.

  1. I love making weekly menus! I bought a white board for my fridge and I write my menu there so it doesn't get lost in a pile of papers :)

Cute legwarmies! What a great Valentine's gift.

  2. We are trying meal planning a bit better this week, too. Saves some stress when we know what we have to prepare for dinner.
Library cookbooks are so much fun! I love drooling over the desserts the best.
    Sweet Valentine's gift!

  3. I'm terrible at getting my meal plans down on paper to and it really does make the weekly cooking go so much smoother when I can see exactly what is on the menu :) Looks like you have some great cookbooks to!

  4. The legwarmies are super cute! I am hoping to make a couple of pairs in the next month or so. I was planning to use Ginny's pattern, but this pattern is very cute too. I am a big believer in meal plans! It has been invaluable as our family has grown. Both a money and sanity saver :)

  5. I've always made a weekly meal plan, and it really is wonderful to have. I always hope to someday make a rotating monthly plan, but that is still a wish not a reality. My current effort is to try and add more side dishes to make more complete meals. I was just concluding that I was going to frog a project and turn it into leg warmers instead.

  8. I'm adding both of those books to my list. I'm wanting to try more slow cooker recipes/meals that are healthy but take less time!

  9. I love making our weekly mneal plan. It eans up saving so much time, money and stress. I do my Sunday evenings with the locas store flyers in hand. Your books look good, especially interested in the make it fast, cook it slow. I will have to see if I can get it through our library.

Leg warmers are on my list of to knit as well. And what a sweet Valentine gift

    Blessings, Elizabeth

  11. I need to read some new cookbooks. I've always been bad about meal planning, but this school year I decided to write down a month's meals at a time. This has worked better for me than weekly and I'm a lot less stress about cooking every day. Cute little leg warmers!
